SHADOWPLAY proposes a motion-capture installation that invites the visitor to interact with a digital shadow puppet version of themselves. This project aims to utilise technology to engage the viewers with the traditional art form of Chinese shadow puppetry.
The visitor will begin the experience by assembling their own shadow puppet on a standing digital screen. After the puppet is completed it will be projected on a front wall, where it will mirror the movements of the visitor. Two visitors maximum can use the intallation at the same time and each shadow puppet projection will last one minute.
